Industrial IoT platform for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance and asset tracking

Cortex is the IIoT platform that connects machines, meters, vehicles and remote sites to one secure cloud, and puts what they report in front of the people who act on it. Factories, mines, water networks, solar plants, cold chains and EV fleets run on it today — and so does anything else that publishes a reading, because what Cortex models is devices and metrics, not one industry.

Questions

What people ask about Cortex

What is Cortex?

Cortex is an industrial IoT (IIoT) platform built by Inordinate Industrial Innovations Pvt. Ltd. under the AID-IOT brand. It receives telemetry published by industrial devices, validates and stores it, rolls it up for fast querying, and presents it to operators through dashboards, rule chains and alarms. It is multi-tenant, so one deployment serves many customers with their data strictly separated.

How do I integrate my own systems with Cortex?

Over one REST API on HTTPS. Your integration exchanges an API key for a bearer token, then reads devices, measurement series, telemetry across any time range, and alarms. Your side opens every connection, so there is no inbound firewall rule and no agent to install. Getting readings from a device into the platform is AID-IOT’s side of the boundary and needs nothing from you.

How long does Cortex retain telemetry?

Raw readings are kept for 30 days, one-minute rollups for 180 days, hourly rollups for 3 years and daily rollups for 10 years. Rollups are computed when the reading arrives rather than at query time, so a year-long chart costs about the same to draw as an hour-long one.

Can I get my data out of Cortex into my own systems?

Yes. Cortex exposes a versioned REST API over HTTPS. An integration authenticates with an API key, receives a bearer token, and reads devices, measurement series, telemetry over any time range and alarms. Your systems initiate every connection, so no inbound firewall rule is required. Version 1 of the API changes only by addition.

How does Cortex keep one customer’s data separate from another’s?

The tenant is a signed claim inside the access token and is read from nowhere else. A tenant identifier supplied in a query string, URL path or request body is ignored, and a build-time test fails the build if any database query omits its tenant filter. A record belonging to another tenant is reported as absent rather than forbidden.

Which industries use Cortex?

Cortex is deployed in manufacturing, mining and heavy equipment, HVAC and building portfolios, water utilities, cold chain and pharma, solar generation, vehicle fleets and EV charging, and remote off-grid sites. Because the platform models devices and metrics rather than any one industry, a vertical it has not been used in yet is a matter of configuration rather than a different product.

How does Cortex stop operators being flooded with alarms?

Alarm load is measured against the EEMUA 191 guideline of six alarms per operator per hour, assessed on the worst rolling hour in the window rather than a daily average, because an average hides a short flood. Repeat occurrences are de-duplicated into one alarm, a duration window suppresses momentary spikes, and a noisy source can be shelved for a set period with a recorded reason.
